​​We are pleased to announce the 2025 Cape Fear Jazz Society UNCW Scholarship Concert. This year's concert will present the UNCW Big Band alongside special guests Millie Palmer (vocals) and Will Beasley (bass).

Millie Palmer
Millie Palmer grew up in a musical household, where she began singing and playing piano and guitar at a young age, and began playing professionally in her early teenage years.Since then, she has made a name for herself in NC as an expressive and distinctive vocalist, and an accomplished songwriter. Palmer has lived and played music in NYC. In addition to obtaining a music degree in jazz studies from UNC-Asheville.
Will Beasley​
​​
​​Will Beasley is a bass player and multi-instrumentalist whose musical interests began as a young boy hearing artists like Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, James Taylor, and Alanis Morissette. As he grew into his teenage years, he was introduced to the Canadian rock band Rush for the first time. Being quickly drawn in by Geddy Lee’s bass playing, he soon acquired a bass guitar and began playing along to records. After playing the electric bass for several years and playing in rock bands in high school, Will was introduced to jazz and the upright bass in college, which led to him to falling in love with and picking up and playing the upright bass.
